Police are investigating the sudden death of a man in Martyville overnight.

Around 5.20am this morning, December 25, a man in his 20s was located deceased on the side of Martyville Road.

Officers from Forensic Crash Unit and Innisfail Criminal Investigation Branch have commenced investigations into the circumstances of the man’s death.

Following further enquiries made at a nearby address, police have taken a 27-year-old man into custody.

Investigations are continuing.
