A crime scene has been declared and investigations are underway following an unlawful wounding incident in Coomera this morning.
Police and emergency services were called to a Cirrus Way property about 6.10am to reports a man sustained a non-life-threatening leg injury.
Inquiries indicate the 23-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the right ankle.
The offender is believed to have fled shortly before police arrived.
The man was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
Anyone with information that could assist investigations, including any CCTV or dashcam footage in the area at the time, is urged to contact police.
