A 13-year-old boy has been fatally hit by a bus at Balaklava in South Australia’s mid north.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 3:20pm after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a bus.
The collision happened at the corner Wallace Street and May Terrace, outside Balaklava High School.
Police earlier said that initial reports suggested there were serious injuries, before confirming the boy had died.
“Sadly the pedestrian, a 13-year-old local boy, died at the scene,” police said.
The boy was a student at Balaklava High School, and Gawler region education director Neil White has expressed his “deepest condolences” to the “family and friends of those involved”.
“The Balaklava school community is deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic death of one of our students,” Mr White said.
SA Police Major Crash investigators have attended the scene of the incident.
Police earlier closed the intersection but later said it had reopened.
