Key points:
- A man was shot in the face in Adelaide’s north on Saturday night
- A car crashed into a bollard nearby on Monday morning
- Police say the driver was the man who shot the victim
Police only found the man after he crashed into a bollard in Angle Vale and ran from the scene.
The 27-year-old victim presented at the Lyell McEwin Hospital with a gunshot wound to his face just before 7:00pm on Saturday.
He was then rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.
Police believe the shooting had occurred on Burwood Road at Munno Para West a short time earlier.
They were called to a single-car crash on Fradd Road at Angle Vale about 1:45am this morning.
A silver Mitsubishi sedan had collided with a bollard but the driver had fled the scene.
Police recognised the car as being involved in the Munno Para West incident, setting up cordons and searching the area.
They found the alleged driver a short distance away.
He allegedly had a firearm on him.
The 31-year-old, of no fixed address, was arrested and is expected to be charged with attempted murder and firearms offences later today.
Police say the two men are known to each other.
