A member of the public who attempted to break up a dispute between a man and a woman outside a supermarket at Salisbury North, in Adelaide’s north, has been seriously assaulted. 

Police say the man attempted to intervene in the altercation about 5:15pm, but was assaulted by the male suspect, who left the scene on a motorbike with the woman.

The victim, a 49-year-old Paralowie man, was airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious head injuries. 

Police say the parties are not known to each other.

Investigations remain ongoing.

Pedestrian hit in south

Separately, a 29-year-old Morphett Vale woman is in a critical condition after being hit by a car at Sheidow Park, in Adelaide’s south, last night.

A 25-year-old man from the same suburb has been charged with causing harm by dangerous driving and driving disqualified. 

Emergency services were called to Berrima Road about 6:45pm, to reports that a car had crashed into another car, hit a pedestrian and then crashed into a second vehicle. 

The female pedestrian was taken to Flinders Medical Centre, where she remains in a critical condition. 

A motorcyclist involved in a crash in the Barossa Valley on Saturday night has died.

Emergency services were called to Barossa Valley Way at Sandy Creek where the rider had left the road and crashed into a fence.

The 39-year-old man from Davoren Park was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he died yesterday.
